Since 2006, Rio Tan has been providing a quality tanning experience to the Hoover, AL area. In 2008, we were proud to extend this experience to more people by opening our second location in the McCalla/Bessemer, AL area. We are pleased to announce that our original Hoover location is expanding! We will be bigger and better than ever before! Not only will be have more space and equipment, but we are also adding a Magic Plus 4 High Pressure bed by Sun Italia. This piece of equipment is absolutely extraordinary! For more information on this and all of our other equipment, please check out the “Equipment”. Behind The Scenes In 2005, Amy Bennefield began working to open the Hoover location. On February 11, 2006 the doors finally opened at the first Rio Tan salon. Amy had only one other employee at the time. In the almost 4 years since she has opened Rio Tan, Amy has not only continued serving the Hoover clients, but she has reached out to people in the McCalla area as well. She started this company from the ground up and continues to work at each store, sharing her passion and knowledge of the indoor tanning industry. Currently, Rio Tan employs 6 additional Tanning Consultants along with additional staff during tanning season. Each Tanning Consultant is certified by the International Smart Tan Network as either a Professional Tanning Consultant or as an Ambassador of Smart Tanning. Amy holds the Masters of Smart Tanning Certification through Smart Tan. She is also certified through the National Tanning Training Institute. Amy feels that ongoing education is vital to the success of Rio Tan and providing clients with the best possible experience. The Rio Tan Experience One visit to Rio Tan tanning salons and you’ll see why we’re not at all like the rest…Rio Tan is the Best! We pride ourselves on offering state-of-the-art, quality tanning equipment with lamps that are maintained and updated regularly. We offer 7 levels of tanning equipment, including the most technologically advanced High Pressure systems made. High Pressure equipment utilizes mostly UVA rays, while providing just enough UVB to stimulate melanin production. An average client can build a base tan in just 3-4 sessions and maintain a tan in just 3 sessions a month. We also have the Legacy Leg Tanner for clients who wish only to tan their legs or to give that extra boost in the hard-to-tan leg area! Not only are we the area leaders in UV tanning equipment, but we also specialize in UV-Free Spray Tanning. We have the Magic Tan UV-Free spray tan booth as well as the all new VersaSpa Anti-Aging & Sunless Tanning System. Beginning in late 2009, we will also be offering the Infinity Sun Airbrush Spray Tan! This is the same system used on the Sunset Tan television show!
